| Founded in 1887, McMaster University comprises of 300 acres of property, and is a pedestrian campus. McMaster is on of the top 100 universities in the world and ranks 1st in Canada in research intensity. Located in Hamilton, which is 45 minutes from Toronto Pearson International Airport, it is a lively hub for research and innovation. Located on campus is the university own nuclear reactor and state-of-the-art conference facilities. The university grounds back onto Cootes Paradise, an enriched marsh environment. Hamilton, the 4th largest city in Ontario and the 9th largest in Canada, possesses and abundance of cultural, historical and natural attractions. Known as “the City of Waterfalls”, there are at least 100 waterfalls within the city boundaries, as well as the beautiful Royal Botanical Gardens. The city is also home to art galleries, the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum, and the Steam and Technology Museum. Hamilton is conveniently located 45 minutes from Toronto, which is home to the world famous CN Tower, the Royal Ontario Museum and the Ontario Science Centre and 1 ½ hours from one of the Wonders of the World, Niagara Falls. Pearson International airport is also only about 45-50 minutes drive away .
